As of today, our site in Cham draws its electricity from our own state-of-the-art rooftop photovoltaic system, complete with ample battery storage. The installation is the latest building block in a comprehensive sustainability strategy that extends from building technology and energy supply to mobility and the recycling of single-use cystoscopes and hysteroscopes.
Sustainable energy from the ground up
Our office building is constructed from locally sourced solid timber, heated by a highly efficient ground-source heat pump and cooled passively in summer – with no energy-intensive air conditioning at all. With the new photovoltaic system and battery storage, we now cover a substantial share of our energy needs ourselves and reduce our site's CO₂ footprint to a minimum.
Sustainable mobility
For us, sustainability does not stop at the office door. We offer our employees a GA Travelcard – the Swiss national public transport pass – and consistently use public transport for commuting and customer visits alike. We avoid air travel and take the train wherever possible.
Full-circle innovation
We take responsibility for our products, too: our recycling programme for single-use cystoscopes and hysteroscopes has been running successfully for over a year and continues to attract new participating clinics and centres. In this way, we combine the clinical benefits of single-use devices – hygiene and constant availability – with a responsible use of resources.
For us, sustainability is not a buzzword but everyday practice for every member of the innoMedicus team. With our own solar installation, we close another circle – and play our part in a liveable shared future.
