Dophi IRE
Irreversible
Electroporation

Where precision meets preservation.
No heat. No compromise.
Just controlled energy, exactly where it's needed.

Overview

The Dophi IRE marks the next generation of irreversible electroporation - a breakthrough platform engineered for precise, non-thermal soft-tissue ablation.

Key features

  • Real-time multi-parameter monitoring for full control of ablation performance throughout the procedure.
  • Lightweight, integrated design for fast setup and a small footprint in the OR or intervention suite.
  • Smart Full-HD touchscreen with a clear graphical interface for intuitive navigation.
  • Intelligent case-management system for structured data collection, archiving and analysis.
  • Built-in ECG synchronisation module for cardiac-gated pulse delivery and enhanced patient safety.
  • Continuously charging capacitor for minimal pulse-to-pulse delay and reduced procedure time.

Multiple probe combinations for high-precision ablation

  • 19 G probes for minimally invasive treatment
  • Adjustable active exposure: 0–4 cm (0.5 cm steps)
  • 19 G probe lengths: 13 cm, 18 cm, 25 cm
  • Integrated thermal sensor for intra-operative temperature monitoring
  • Needle-insertion fixator for accurate, repeatable probe placement

Principle of Irreversible Electroporation

Short, high-voltage electric pulses create permanent nanopores in the cell membrane, leading to apoptotic cell death – without relying on heat. The extracellular matrix, vessels, nerves and bile ducts within the ablation zone remain structurally preserved.

Probe array configurations

Flexible 2- to 6-probe array configurations for tailored ablation geometry.

  • 2-probe array
  • 3-probe array
  • 4-probe array (two variants)
  • 5-probe array
  • 6-probe array

The Essential Difference of IRE

The mechanism of pore formation affects all cells exposed to the external electrical field, acting specifically on the phospholipid bilayers of cell membranes while leaving protein-based structures such as fibers, collagen, and the extracellular matrix unaffected.
